Happy New Year

Dear readers happy New Year! May 2014 be a wonderfully blessed year filled with joy and love.

I for one am extremely excited about 2014. Allow me to fill you in on what has been going on for the past few weeks. In mid November I completed my Bachelor Honours qualification, soon after I moved into a lovely new place with one of my good friends, Michael. Our new place is bathed in sunlight, the living room has a beautiful wall art and the balcony overlooks the pool. Plus to make everything better I will start my own little herb garden as soon as I get back to Cape Town. Apart from my lovely new home I am extremely excited for 2014 as I have been employed by the Cape Herb and Spice Company. The good news of my employment came in the form of a Monday morning call on my Dad’s birthday. Being employed as a development technologist at such a good firm 3 weeks after completing my qualification is a true blessing.

For the moment I am in the Northern Cape completing my (last ever) December holiday job. I took some time off to spend with my family and joined them in Langebaan for a few days over Christmas. Spending time with loved ones is always a pleasure. In the picture below you get to see Jeanine, my brother’s girlfriend with my brother, Pieter, standing next to her. Then my parents, Rey and Nelia, followed by myself and Jako. In the front is my brother in law, (also) Pieter and my sister, Carla, along with their child/puppy Emma.

Seeing as I will no longer be studying or doing research late into the night or over weekends I hope to provide you with more regular blog posts. I can’t wait to get to Cape Town to start taking pretty food pictures in my new kitchen! This year I will also continue to assist Carla with photography for her fashion and lifestyle blog Styledairy. Apart from that I hope to complete my PADDI with Jako so we can go diving on a more regular basis. I also desperately want to cycle more. Since Jako bought me a bicycle in August I haven’t had the chance to use it as much as I would like to. Luckily the area I moved to is more cycle friendly than the city bowl. This time around I am not making New Year’s resolutions aimed at things I want to start doing. I am taking a different approach: I am going to stop doing two things. I have two bad habits I want to get rid off and with so many new things and spaces around me I think I won’t be too hard to accomplish.

For some reason my gut tells me 2014 will be an extremely good year. It truly feels like I am about to find my mojo – and that is never a bad thing. 😉 My new year’s wish for each and every one of you is to find your mojo/get your groove or whatever you want to call it.
